Short Stories Central exists to provide a place for aspiring writers to submit their own stories, and be able to read stories submitted by other users. We also aim to provide resources for aspiring authors to aid them in their writing. New content that will bring us closer to that objective will soon be added to the site content, including advice about how to get published, error checking stories and story inspiration.

A Brief History of Short Stories Central - 2003-present

We set up Short Stories Central back in September 2003 when we had accumulated a vast amount of stories from past English essays and others we had written spontaneously. The premise was to deliver some of our stories into the public domain and submit them to review, and create a place for others to do the same. Since then, we've been doing just that, and that is what Short Stories Central is going to continue to do.
Short Stories Central has been the subject of many changes over recent in months. At the beginning of 2004, the website was totally relaunched, and it even had a new .co.uk domain name to go with it. At the same time, many changes were made to the site and stories, but it was felt that these changes were not enough. In July 2004, the website was completely redesigned, with no text block left unturned in the process. The website has a different feel and is closer to fulfilling the overall aims that were set out when Short Stories Central was started.
This, however, is not the end of the changes. We are currently working on new features for the website, such as automatic story submissions, user profiles, and much more, which will hopefully be arriving in the near future.
Please bear with us as we go through these changes, and eventually achieve our aim of being one of the best writing resources on the internet.
